How do Chinese national standard steels correspond to European standard steels?
The three most critical strength indicators for steel are: yield strength, tensile strength, and impact resistance.
European structural steel designs typically reference materials under EN 10219-1 conditions, commonly including S235JR, S275JR, and S355JR.
We compare the most crucial strength requirements for steel under both EN and GB standards.

From this, we can see:
1.1 Q235B fully meets the requirements of S235JR.
1.2 The correspondence between Q275 and S275JR is more complex. While yield strength and tensile strength can be matched, Q275 lacks a corresponding standard for impact resistance. Therefore, Q355B is recommended as a substitute.
1.3 S355JR can be fully substituted with Q355B. Not only do they match in yield strength and tensile standards, but Q355B also exceeds S355JR in impact resistance standards, offering superior strength.
